Why do we have to pay vets £90 an hour to do jobs such as drawing foals, taking hair samples, putting in mico chips and giving routine vaccinations. It's time we had a system similar to the NHS where parameds go to accidents and by specialising can do a better job than many a doctor. We need a training system like that we have for vet nurses. Do vets want to waste their time on such mundane matters. The BHs should press for this.

Honestly? While it is costly to have a vet out, when I call a vet I want someone experienced to deal with my horse as she means the world to me. Vet only for me tbh! Should anything go awry or you have other questions then they vet will be experienced enough to handle this. Often if I have the vet out for an everyday matter such a flu jabs then I take to opportunity to ask any questions, have them give the horse a once over etc. Better safe than sorry.
