I'm not really up on it and wanted to know more about it - I know that people have mixed opinions on it.

I've brought a bit of MR into retraining Ty but haven't agreed with everything....can anyone explain the thought process?

My own opinion, for what it's worth..........!!! ........

Thought process of horse:-
1) Why is my best friend behaving oddly?
2) Why is my best friend wriggly a long white rope at me?
3) Why is my best friend waving and poking an orange stick at me?
4) Why am I getting really bored?

Thought process of best friend:-
1) I am now your boss; you will do as I say
2) You will follow me wherever I go
3) Why don't you understand what I am asking?

4) Did I really spend all this money unnecessarily?
5) Let's go for a nice ride, instead, and enjoy ourselves.

Just my two cents here..I understand the concept of MRs teachings- ie its common sense and can be observed when you turn your horse out in a herd , or play with them at liberty etc.

I dont understand Parelli, I am fed up of the monthly magazines always featuring it in one way or another. I have never seen a horse in the wild with a stick and rubber ball...

Just out of interest, what havent you agreed with re. MR?

MR doesnt work for everyone and neither does Parelli. My advice would be to try some of the lesser known, less showy NH trainers and pick and chose what works best for you and your horse. It's not for everyone but it works for me and my mare and we both have fun (minus a carrot stick and bouncy ball!!).
