Parsnips....

This is a very stupid question but can you feed parsnips whole?

Someone told me that parsnips cause colic in horses, however, my highland didn't hear about that and always enjoyed them. If they were very large, I used to split them in half, lengthways.

I feed parsnips all the time. In feeds, hidden in haynets or thrown out in the field. I slice them length ways.

Same here. I feed parsnips in my boy's feeds every day. He loves them.
Rats, apparently don't though.
They got into a ready made feed one night and out of carrots, apples, parsnips chaff and balancer, only the parsnips remained in the morning!
