Thanks for that. I only ask as have been looking up my girls breeding and notice she has alot of Arab in her. I also enjoy showing and wondered if I could combine the 2!!

This is her breeding if anyone can work out what % arab she has!!

I've had a quick look and I think she is only a maximum of 6.25 % so not enough, with her sire having the minimum 12.5%. I may be wrong though. Good Luck.

If you contact the arab horse society they will work out the % for you and tell you if you are eligible to register her as a PBA. My little chap actually turned out to have a couple more % than I thought, so it's worth asking the question.

If you go down the cherif lines then she will need a minimum of 12.5% arab. And yes she will need to be registered with AHS, have an AHS passport and affiliate to Cherif.

If you want to do local showing, you may still need a passport (I always took mine but never needed it). But the local shows aren't as picky and you dont need special affiliation e.t.c. Just turn up and give it a go! You may find they mix pures and parts in some classes, so dont expect to be placed higher than a pure. (Just my findings)

County level you will need to be registered.

My boy was 50% arab and 50% connie, so we could do an array of classes. Go to a cherif show and have a look. It is a good insight into what they look for. Look at British show horse website, it lists shows and when the cherif classes are on. Or look at AHS diary of events or the Arab lines website. The arab lines website is fab.

Good luck.
