Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for livery yards that offer part or even full livery in the Derby/Notts areas. I live about 6 miles from Derby City centre but would be willing to travel a fair distance for the right yard. It's all a bit hypothetical at the minute but would like to have a look at some possibilities.

Are you north or south of the city? And what would you call part? (I've seen people vary from turn out and skip out to everything bar riding!)

Morning duties I guess, so feed, turn out and maybe skip/muck out but that's not a deal breaker.

I'm North of Derby, pretty squarely between Derby and Notts

You've got a couple near to Belper - Pinchoms (I was going to look around there but fell in love with somewhere else first) and Sandford Farm.
Golden Valley & Selston both look awesome from photos but not sure on the type of livery they do tbh (would assume part/full) - both have nice schools if thats important to you.
Woodpecker is run by Gil Rileys wife so should be great care!
I've heard of another called PJ's in Denby? I think and Asherfield Stud in Ripley but no idea what either are like or what they offer.

Pinchom's is amazing - it's my yard and in the 15 years I've owned horses and many, many yards both derby based and elsewhere I've never been on such a good yard. There is potentially a stable available there in the next week or so. It's 24/7 turnout all year round and pretty much no-one stables at night but Carol (YO) does extras as needed for very reasonably prices.

Don't touch Lime Lane with a barge pole - 2 sets of strangles in 5 years, including the most recent one where a horse died because the yard manager wouldn't implement proper biosecurity immediately.

Yes there was no chance I was going to recommend this one, definitely avoid!

It's awfully run - absolutly no care for disease control at all. My horse got ringworm because a colt known to have it was allowed to come onto the yard, into the normal barn and out in the herd without any notice to anyone. The owner would handle the infected colt then go and stroke my mare. Needless to say she caught it - now I get that it's not dangerous etc but it's very very inconvienient and I lost about 6 weeks of riding plus incured the expense of treating Roo and all her things. It wasn't until I saw it on Roo and made a fuss that any isolation was made. Same colt then developed a badly snotty nose and absolutly nothing was done about it - luckily it wasn't anything that passed to any of the others (so likely was RSV) but without proper veterinary attention there was no way of knowing, and yet again there was very poor disease control over the matter.
I am not surprised at all that they got strangles again and, from friends who were still there at that point, it was so badly managed that a horse who would have been unlikely to catch it had proper measures been put in place died from it.

My one and only ever livery left mine to go there.

Is Strelley too far?
