I am relocating to York and looking for livery for my horse here, or as close to York as possible. I would need part livery (to include turning out/bringing in, and feeding) as and when needed due to work commitments.
Must be a nice yard with a riding arena and daily turnout which is not in large herds; small groups or individual preferred.
Has anyone got, or know of, any spaces in a suitable yard? or have any suggestions of where I could try?

Thank you :)

Hi, I have been at a few livery yards in York. I'm not sure any meet all of your needs but if you need to compromise they are all nice places in different ways...

Red House Estate Moor Monkton - +ves - I am here now and I love it. Big outdoor floodlit arena which has not been affected by flooding, ok hacking, really nice liveries. It is DIY but a lady runs a livery service and turns out my horse for me and does bringing in and mucking out etc and she is trustworthy and really nice
BUT -ves for you would be turn out is in big groups over winter - mares in one massive field and geldings in another. I was worried about this but the fields are so big none of the horses fight for space.

Glade Farm Escrick - the lady who owns here does part livery. They have a reagular sized outdoor arena with floodlights and ok hacking, excellent hacking if you can get across the A19 into Escrick Park. Individual fields for horses but these are small and I had to move my horse as he was not getting enough grass and was depressed living on his own.

Warren House Farm Escrick - these only do full livery but at £65 a week including hay and straw it is very reasonable. I had my horse here until I wanted to do DIY. The hacking is AMAZING!!! I really miss the hacking and if you are big on hacking I suggest you have a look round the place. They have an outdoor arena but floodlights are not good and you have to walk to the arena in the dark. The horses are turned out in groups of 3 or 4 in very generously sized fields - the owner doesnt scrimp on land per horse which is really good.
