Part sharers?

When I found the one I wanted to share, I was asked to finically contribute in relation to how many days I was doing and take all relevant jobs etc on that day. No more then that.

my sharer just rides 2 days a week and pays £20, she does jobs if i ask her (which is usually to muck him out in winter if i have 2 horses to do) but usually i am down anyway so no real need.

I part share a horse and as he lives out I just do all the things necessary for riding him (grooming , cleaning tack etc) and poo pick his field on my days. I also contribute £20 per week ( I do 2 days so this works out a tenner a ride). Previous horses I've shared have required more work , for example the stabled ones I would do a full muck out , haynets , feed , scrub water buckets and the such on my days.

I think it is reasonable to ask the sharer to do all that is required to look after the horse on their days , unless agreed otherwise. If the sharer doesn't have time to do stable chores and can only groom and ride then I think its reasonable to ask them to contribute more financially.

As a part sharer i hvae had to do all the mucking out, making feeds, tack cleaning, water etc when in and then poo picking the fields in the summer. My current one is £20 a week and i ride 3/4 times.

I've part shared a few different horses. Usually I do all the jobs on my day. I haven't been asked to clean tack though. I haven't poo-picked more than once a week even if I ride three times, but that's just because the yards I've been at work on a rota with poo-picking.
If the owner has another horse I offer to do everything for them too if they're not down because once you're doing one it's easy to do another. With my current share I bring in, feed and turn out her other horse if she's not there. I also always sweep our part of the yard and we all put hay out in the field together.
I did look at loaning a horse on full livery and as you can imagine she was priced accordingly!

I'm a part sharer too and as everyone else has said I do all the usual jobs (mucking out, feeding , bringing in etc) on my days. That said, there aren't any hard and fast rules and as long as both parties are happy it doesn't matter. The most important thing I found with finding a part loan (appart from the horse itself) was developing a good relationship with the owner. For the right horse-owner combination i would be prepared to do/pay alot more than for just the right horse to be honest. Current share horse is fab (if unrideable at the moment) and his owner is brilliant. It makes such a difference. I had one owner once whose pony's behaviour changed to the point where it was verging on dangerous and she didnt even think it was important enough to tell me!! That agreement ended pretty quickly!

Thanks for your replies, the reason I ask is I would like my sharer to help with poo picking just once a week. So I stand a better chance of keeping on top of things. I didn't want to come across as rude or ask to much.
