Okayyyy, this may seem like a silly question but can you change your passport organisation to a different one?

The thing is, ive had my horse for nearly 2 years, ive still not changed ownership (ino its terrible) but i have actually tried!

She is registered with the irish cob society so i called, emailed countless times. Ive recently been told they have been shut down or closed?

Someone told me the ipsa had took over them, however i emailed them, they didnt get the licence, they thought that (some other comany, cant remember the name however!) had got the license, SOOO i emailed them, they said they havent yet been advised of this.

It's getting quite annoying now though, ive been trying to change ownership for ages now and still not managed it! Hence my original question of changing passports all together as it would be so much easier?

Sorry its quite long winded haha! Any help welcome and muchly thanked!
-While im here might as well throw in another question. BSJA-Does your horse have to be an actual breed and have known bloodlines for you to register with them? Sound like another silly question but again, any help welcome :)

If you managed to get through all that, THANKS and please feel free to post any information at all you think may help :)

I have no idea what you do about the passport the whole thing is a mess really but can answer the BS question which is that you do not have to know your horses breeding to register so you can get on with that as I don't think you will need to be named on the passport in order to do so but you may need to check that to be sure.

I don't know if this will help but I have had passports from abroad overstamped by
The Anglo europeon studbook which means you don't have to send to send your passport abroad .

BS will put a number in when you register, or they used to, they may also overstamp in these circumstances it would be worth asking and save the cost of a new one.

The easiest thing to do is send it to Horse sport Ireland registrations section. They will do it for €15, (well €15 for an ISH passport, won't be much different I can't imagine for yours) they are the main by a long long way PIO in Ireland, and will definitely do it for you. If a studbook goes wallop, they step in and take over registrations. Their website is here: http://www.horsesportireland.ie/forms.103.html, change of ownership form here:
http://www.horsesportireland.ie/_fileupload/Louise/2013/Transfer of Ownership 2013.pdf

Their address is:
Horse Sport Ireland Registrations Unit,
Beech House,
Millenium Park,
Osberstown,
Naas,
Co Kildare,
Ireland.

Email is: registrations@horsesportireland.ie

They are really helpful and deal with this sort of thing every day of the week .

ETA I am almost 100% (99.9% I suppose!) HSI will do this for you. Change of ownership for me takes a little less than 2 weeks. Postage to UK may take a little longer.
