Passport - change of ownership

Hello!

I bought a horse earlier this year and for one reason or another have had to have her passport to hand (moving yards, vaccinations, transporting to the vet) and haven't had the chance to send it off to get ownership changed.

This situation could be set to continue for another couple of weeks before she is set to stay in one place for longer than a few weeks and I wondered if there was a time limit on change of ownership before you start to get in trouble with someone? In the past, I've always just sent them straight off as soon as I got the horse home...but it just hasnt been possible this time.

I think you are meant to send them off within a month, but lets be honest i know alot of people that have got horses & have never change the passport into there name, i hold my hands up & admit im one of them. So i wouldnt stress to much just send it off as soon as you get the chance.

I'm usually Mrs Sensible with stuff like this because if I dont do it straight away I usually forget about it forever...or until someone tells me off for something.
