I recently purchased a 12yo horse with a Weatherbys passport stamped as a DUPLICATE. Does this mean its a replacement passport? Or does it mean something different? Because horse was born 5/13 & passport issued 9/13. It has all vac history from 2013 to present date but only 1 listed prev owner in 2023. Looking at vac history, this horse has moved around a fair bit so I'm confused why only 1 owner in 2023?

Any passport issued later in life is stamped replacement. Most likely your horse was passported without a registered name and the passport reissued when it had a registered name added, hence being a duplicate.

I have recently had a donkey passported Weatherbys id register, it is his first passport but I did not breed him. His passport is stamped replacement, this means that he is automatically excluded from the human food chain

Not all owners get around to changing their name in the passport. I got one of mine out at a RC area competition the other week and wondered what form I had tucked in it. The change of details form - not much use if you forget to actually post it off!
