im registering my horse to me in her passport but it says on (the horse passport agency)... that i 'can have a different name for the animalon the passport'

so does this mean showname or stable name??

her name is bridget - (stable) and her showname is 'the edge of reason'... so what do i name her as.... as currently shes nameless except for some ink on her passport lol!

help?!

If you intend to register her with an affiated body eg BSJA/BD/BE in the furture I would get her pastport with her show name on it makes life easier when doing that. Otherwise it dosen't really matter.

yes id like to BD her next year... posibly BS(ja) in a two years...

thanks for the replies....

i was going to call her what i said.. but had a chancge of mind as i didnt realise how many names were out there.... now im stuck!!! :o

I think you will find that it means you can change the registered name of the horse on the passport. I did for mine as I didn't like his show name but he was registered with the ISH board.

Name changing from the original name is illegal but many countries let you compete under a different name but the name in the passport has to remain in the passport. See EU Regulation on Horse Passports.
