I am going to look at a horse with a pet passport, supposedly as his Irish passport has been lost. Is it possible to get a replacement passport in this situation. I have been told that the breeder is known and the horse is micro-chipped. Is that enough information. He should have originally been registered with the Irish Horse Board. He is being sold by a dealer but his previous owner is known.
Anyone else been in this situation and got an replacement passport?

if he has being microchipped you can get a duplicate passport from the irish horse board. when we bought my pony (now 10 years ago) her passport was lost. We had a measuring cert from the previous owner and all breeding was known however i dont think this is neccessary. you're best bet is to scan the pony and ring the irish horse board with the chip number. I have no idea how much it costs but yes it is possible
