I am going to view a pony for my son on Weds.

I spoke in length with the current owner last night and she sounded very genuine, but although the ad states the pony is 13yrs, she told me the passport says he is only 10yrs.

Should I be suspicious?

Also I emailed a gentleman about another pony last thurs, and had an instant email back to say it was still for sale and to give him a call. Since then I have not been able to get hold of the seller, and as have already left a phone message and email, should I try again or leave it for a few days? I don't want to hassle the chap, but don't want to miss out as the pony sounded ideal!

Thanks for any views.

Regarding the passport, it may be an error at the time of issuing if it is a generic one they are just putting in the information given when applied for many are very inaccurate on age and even worse for height.
If you can trace his history back to a previous owner, which as a childs pony most people would want to anyway, there should be no problem, it is not as if they are now making it younger to lose a few years of questionable life.
Do the usual research get references from PC and make sure, as best you can it is the right pony for you.

I wouldn't worry too much it's usually the other way round! People usually would say it was only ten but passport says they are older. Like the above tra e previous owners. Or the seller may have been advised it's older in it's teeth or it could be an estimate age if previous owners have had to get the passport to to follow rules and only had an approx age of him. Go and see it and see if you 'feel' it's ok. Of your not bothered by it's age then it's worth a look.
