Hello, I have a TB with no registered name in the passport but I want to compete affiliated BE this year. Do I need to get his name registered on passport?

Thanks

Yes and surely you would want your horse to have a registered name ?

What is his dam and sire name?
To be honest, as long as the name isn’t already taken then you can pretty much call him anything.

if you want Gilbert and it’s taken try something like Gil Bert

Roman numerals and suffix letters are your friend.

I once tried to call a horse "Whitey on the Moon" after Gil Scott Heron, (horse was a 2003 KPWN, so W year). Sadly the name change was rejected as I was trying to lose an originally assigned name....

You may be able to get the passport overstamped and give your horse a name rather than go through Wetherby's where it is £200 to name a horse. It would be worth looking into and would give you greater scope for a name that hasn't already been takan by a racehorse.
