I rent a paddock for my 9-year old Welsh cob mare and I'd like to improve it by renovating it in small areas. Does anyone have any advice on seed mixes to use?

Go to your local merchants. There is such a wide range of seeds to choose from, i.e., fast growing for hay etc. Tell them what you will be using paddock for and they should be able to advise you on the best product and also when to seed (after frosts).
