well took Louis to Patchetts yesterday to do two elementary tests. We have done about 3 elementaries so far but this is the first time I have entered two on one day. Well the weather was terrible...wind and rain gallore and the warm up is outdoors

Anyway, I only got 5 mins to warm up for the first test as I went for a friend and had to read for her and her class was running late...major panic as I normally do a good 30mins solid warmup. In addition to all that Monday at Patchetts is full of professionals all warming up on their big fancy warmbloods...well apart from me on on the little loops and my friend on her gypsy cob!
Cue a big panic from me when on top of all this Louis is deciding to be uber excited and bounces and spooks the whole way up to the dressage arena

Well much to my surprise he did a jolly nice test (E44), the extra energy actually worked in our favour for the medium trots and simple changes.
We then had to wait 2 hrs for the next class and when I tacked up again for the E 41 he was very unimpressed and lazy and unhappy to leave his girlfriend behind in the trailer! Well the test went ok apart from him breaking into trot for two strides on the 10m return to the track counter canter but he did feel extremely tired and a little tense.

Ok so went to get my score sheets (not expecting to have come anywhere) and he had come 2nd with 64% in the E 44 and 3rd in the
E 41 with 63.7%

I was completely shocked and thrilled with my little man for beating all those fancy warmbloods! A complete shock to have been placed at all seeing as he's not long been doing elementary...anyway am so so happy with him!

Thanks! I am still surprised! Well we won't get to go out until the new year now as I am bogged down with work, a little broke and going away on the 24th for a week! It's a shame as I'd like to have gone straight out again to keep him in the flow of things. My yard is doing an unaffiliated christmas dressage comp this sat though and my friend Rachel is going to do the E41 on him. I've bought the tinsel and sparkles and he's going to look so cute!

Have you done the medium with bloss? If so how did it go?

That's a shame. It is big and always very busy there though and the competition is normally incredibly tough on the weekend! The only reason I keep going is that it is just down the road from me and the facilities are fantastic and it runs like clockwork. I'm sure you'd do fabby if you came back again

Well done you!

For someone who was so worried about the elementaries you've taken them by storm, now please could you pass some good luck this way, I am at Towerlands on Tues and after my last disasterous outing I need all the help I can get!

Thanks very much! Posting some cyber-luck to you now! I was hoping to go to Towerlands on tues after how nice you said it was there. I had to pull out though as my travel companion (the girl with the coloured cob) had to pull out due to work comitments. It's a shame as it does look so great there. What tests are u doing? Good luck xxx
