Patey Hats in the show ring

I'm planning on doing some low key shows this year, are you allowed to wear a Patey hat in classes like best turned out or working hunter? I believe they are kite marked but just unsure of the rules and regs of wearing them at shows.

It will most likely say on the schedule what sort of riding hat you must wear. Probably one with a safety harness. Always best to check the rules.

Alot of shows require that a hat with a harness is worn, even the inhand classes. You would need to check the individual show schedule to see what would be allowed.

If you're going unaff, you'll most likely find up-to-date harnessed hats a requirement (and sticking*
my soapbox head on, at the very least there will be impressionable kids present...). Obv for anything aff, you've got the rule books online.*
