Patey Hats

Where would you look for a 2nd hand Patey?
I have tried ebay for weeks, to no avail, I have a good budget (sadly not quite good enough for a bespoke new one).

I have tried several hunt websites/classifieds, field and country antiques as well as various other horsey forums etc. Sadly Patey themselves don’t do a 2nd hand section as on the whole they are all moulded to fit from new.

I have even tried googling “6 7/8s LG Patey Navy” I thought there would be many more on the market now that they are no longer permitted and Intro/Pre-Nov (sorry BE90 and BE100!) it appears not the case. - does anyone have any suggestions?

PS: Have a Oyster Bay wine induced H/O this morning so bacon sandwiches with brown and red sauce with OJ for all!

I'm sure I saw one whilst perusing some classifieds last night. Possibly the BD website - quite a few pages in.

What about a Charles Owen Beagler? There are a few of them on ebay, I got mine for £70 and is was new.

Presume you've set up a search on ebay? Sometimes you just have to be REALLY patient and something will come up eventually! Not sure if you can put a begging post up on the BD forum but worth a try!
Of the hunts, not sure who you've tried, but the smart ones like the Shire packs and maybe the Cotswold are worth a try. Might be worth speaking to hunt secs to see if they will ask around.
Remember if you do find a really decrepit one, Patey do renovate/ re-cover etc
