Yellow Dog has sliced the top of one of his pads off on his paw

I'm about to take him to the yard to finish off - should I just take him or stick a bag over it to keep it clean? I hibiscrubbed it this morning and put purple spray on it but he's been wandering round at home and the floors aren't exactly clean

but he's in and out of the stables and likes to stand on the muckheap

Ouch, that sounds really painful!

Is he likely to fret is he's left alone? If so I'd put a bag over it and take him along, but try and keep him off the muckheap! If he'll just sleep, I'd leave him at home.

What Han said. My OH's dogs does this frequently and my own female kebabbed her paw on wire last week, if kept clean (I disinfected Bella x2 daily, as she is a minger

) and rested, it tends to heal pretty quick.

I can leave him at home but he wants a walk and as its chucking it down I don't want to to the horses and walk him too

I shall try and sellotape a bag to him or something.

He's currently sitting by the front door by his lead waving his leg at me

An elastic band (appropiately sized) will keep the bag on. Can you tell I have had experience in these matters?
Matty broke 2 toes (horse trod on her) when she was a pup and had a dressing on for weeks so I tried several methods and that worked the best.
