Payload on Volkswagon LT50 horseboxes

following on form an earlier post i looked at these and they look nice boxes as i need one for a 17hand but am not sure what payload they have. Can anyone help as i want to carry a 17 hand eventer and a 15.2 which is ob too much for a 3.5 ton box.
 
they shouldnt weigh more than 5tonnes when loaded..

so you will need to weigh it empty..then take that from 5tonnes...
that would be your payload
 
i dont have one yet and am wondering how much they weigh empty roughly. I kow they are 5 ton boxes but will i have enough payload to get a 17hand and a 15.2 in plus 2 adults and saddles and bridles. I reasise it depends on the individual box but a rough idea would be good.
 
on average, each outfit....horse, rider, tack, water, hay is around 3/4 of a ton..so to take 2, you would need a payload of 1.5ton...so ideally the box shouldnt weigh more than 3.3 unleaden..

unfortunately there isnt an average...you will need to ask every individual seller what it weighs unleaden.
