Hello,

I've been merrily going wild spending on my Ebay account safe in the knowlege its coming off my credit card rather than my current account. Until I began wondering where the boots I'd ordered had got too. Anyway to my utter dismay they are being paid for my echeque which will be cleared from my current account ooops

. I didn't set this up or request it so why oh why aren't the payments coming off my credit card which is my primary funding source, I've done multiple searches on the help option to no avail, that Pypal website is really rubbish. Please help!

ooh never had that before!

however, paypal do require secondary funding and may have gone over to secondary funding rather than using your first. Check you settings again.

I have a gripe about how long it takes paypal to take the money out of your account - nearly 3 weeks sometimes.

The exact same thing happened to my hubby. He thought he was paying by credit card only to find that they had taken funds from his bank account which at the time was an empty one and hence a £27.50 charge. He too had his account set as credit card as primary source of payment and thought the bank was secondary payment. He hasn't got around to it yet but I gather he was planning on removing the bank account details.

That sounds a right pain - we've had quite a few e-cheques bounce on us, so we won't despatch goods until they have cleared. This now makes more sense if people aren't expecting PayPal to wip money out of their bank account!

Also they take around 10 working days to clear, so you might not get your purchase for 2 weeks.

If the payments are still pending you can cancel and then repay making sure you select the card option. You may need to ask the person you have paid to refund I can't quite remember

This really does not belong on the Latest News Board!
Never had problems with PayPal myself - only ever gave them my credit card details and the one time I was not happy about what a vendor (not via Ebay) supplied they credited my account immediately.

I've just had the same with my card I recently added to my account. It will not let me pay via my card, just defaults to echeque. After two phone calls, 1 email and today a further phone call it turns out I had reached a spending limit and had to verify my account (which has already been done twice!) So they are re-setting the spending limit supposedly and it should work again in the next couple of days! V.annoying and frustrating. It took my e-cheque over two weeks to clear! I would try phoning them 08707 307 191
