Some may recall I posted about buying a saddle off a "girl" who was well known for scamming people, but I still need to buy a saddle and none of my local saddlery's stock the saddle I need.

There are a couple other saddles advertised online but are a distance from me so will need to buy online.

Is is safer to pay via Paypal or is there a better/safer way?

Yes if in any doubt always use PayPal because they always back the buyer. If it doesn't arrive then claim your money back via PayPal, if it comes and not as described then get your money back or a partial refund which would be sorted out between you and the seller

Yes you can get some money back up to a certain amount with PayPal, I prefer to use eBay as you have their protection as well, and a credit card usually will provide insurance when a debit card wouldn't. I'd be very wary of doing a direct bank transfer for a larger amount.
