Wasn't sure where to post this, but scam emails supposedly from PayPal are doing the rounds again. Subject line will be something like" your account has been accessed by a third party". When you open the email it tells you to click on a link - whatever you do, don't click the link - forward the emails on to spoof@paypal.com. Just had one of these emails last night and they do look really genuine.

I have had several recently looking like a genuine question sent about an item i have for sale. The only problem is i'm not selling anything! Those emails get deleted straight away!

Just to make paypal users more aware of what to look for, this is how 'good' phishing emails can look.

if you do get an email supposedly from PayPal and it looks authentic, float your cursor over the link in the email and look at the bottom left corner of your screen (about the "start" button - it will show you the URL that the link is for and if that says anything other than paypal, then don't click!!

Ive had 2 emails that are supposedly from PayPal that says this as the subject:
PayPal Notification: Re: Unauthorized Use of Your PayPal Account !

And to click on a link to verify details, but they went into my Junk file so ive ignored them.

When I get ANYTHING supposedly from ebay or Paypal I always send to the spam service - if it is real then they will tell you, if not it will be noted - by far the safest way of dealing with things I think!

I bought something from ebay through paypal and it arrived broken. False return address etc etc. so couldn't send it back, absolutely no answer to numerous emails so left with broken item and deleted bank account Both ebay and paypal refused to do anything at all. It is not our policy to interfere blah blah Never again

I got one of these e-mails.....damn things! I agree with Jaylen though...send ANY "spoofs" to the address she's given.

However I also sold an item on ebay and got paid by the customer in question. I then took the money from my paypal to my back account like anyone would. 2 days later I got a proper e-mail from Paypal saying that the person hadn't been real and that the whole thing was a fraud. I lost £30 to them and Ebay/Paypal refused to do anything about it....all I was faced with was a deleted ebay account, deleted e-mail address and no real address! I was so mad!

I've just bought something on eBay and paid by Paypal and haven't heard another thing! It's only been a week so far but I've sent two emails and had no reply. Just got a funny feeling that somethings not right about it. Will be p*ssed off if my purchase doesn't arrive.

Am thinking for selling I might go back to 'paper based' and ask for Postal Orders!
