Hi all, my little eight year old is doing her first pony club jumping comp tomorrow thinking back to being 8 years old what useful advice have you been given for such an event?

Just to have a damn good bash at it, have fun, try your best, and even if it doesnt go to plan, remember you've got a million other days to try again.
When I had a mardy because my pony wouldn't do as she was told (her party trick was to put her head between her knees and buck buck buck like she was doing handstands!) my Mum would always remind me how lucky I was to have a pony, and that some children have never seen a pony apart from on the tele. A bit off topic, I know, but its something that has stuck with me. Even now, when I'm having an off day about having to poo pick in the rain, she says "Remember, its not something that you HAVE GOT to do, this is something you GET to do." Puts everything into perspective!
