I've just read the Horse and Hound report of the championships, and not with interest the first paragraph in the 'Tetrathlonh talk' column. Odd how George Bullard was asked to withdraw after it was obvious that he was in the running for 1st place. If the chairman of the comittee had allowed him to compete, why was the decision overturned by a few complaints?

"As a member of the pony club I stand for the best in sportsmanship...............and take winning or loosing in my stride"

Perhaps some competitors need to re-read the first page of the pony club rule books.

I think people complained because there was a new rule introduced last year (2007 season) that you have to qualify from your own area and George didnt do that! and there would be no point in having the rule! How did people know that he didnt legitimately qualify beats me?!!

But we want to see the best people competing at the championships regardless of how they qualified George Bullard is an unbelievable competitor (possibly going to be the best ever!!) and we want to see him competing at the Championships!

Would have been nice seeing Polly (2006 Girls Champion) competiting aswell even though she didnt qualify from her area but she should be allowed to compete saying that she was the current champion and should be allowed to defend it.

But in fairness i think Nick would have beaten George to the sword because his run was more than enough to beat George in the end! and Nick fully deserved what he got, George has another couple of years to win the sword again (im sure he will walk it next year).

A great year anyway and a wonderful time at the Regionals in Ireland! Really looking forward to next year!
