I bought a gatehouse peaked riding hat last summer which I love. It’s always kept in a hat bag and looked after, I’ve never dropped it (to my knowledge, unless somebody else has moved it) or fell off it in yet. I noticed the other day that the peak has a 1/2” crack right in the middle of the peak, and it’s been displaced a bit so you can see the white inside of the peak. I have no idea how it’s happened.

I’m worried about riding in it, but others have said not to be because it’s not the actual hat that’s the issue. Would you replace it?F95C34C8-B0A2-4220-A1F9-5BCD24023926.jpeg

Something has caused that and, as it's unclear what, it's impossible to rule out that something having affected the rest of the hat. I'd definitely replace it. Nothing is worth risking your head for.
