Last sunday, went for hack and when i returned my horse was lame, his leg had filled at the bottom, bandaged it and left him in, all was fine, went up this morning and his leg is hot from top to bottom and extremely filled at the bottom, when he walks he is moving it out to the side, i ave bandaged it again and he will be going to the vet asap but any ideas what this could be so i can prepare myself! thanx

Could be an infection that has gone untreated (leg would have been swollen prior to exercise I would have thought). Or Lymphangitis....

I'd be having the vet today personally.

The leg will be most filled at the bottom as the fluid will drain downwards. I'd be getting a vet immediately. Definitely sounds like an infection. My horse behaved similarly when he had lymphangitis.
