Hi , My horse had a absess that went to pedal bone sergery debridement, like a slice of pie from her foot , looking for some sucsess stories on healing , im aware everyone horse is different, she is doing well now but still slightly lame , currently box rest , 20 mins hand grazing a day and leg wrapped up .thanks guys , looking forward to hearing your stories
 
My RID has this done about 12 years ago now. He actually had a penetrating injury to a hind hoof and needed a GA and clean up. We did about 5 weeks of box rest and bandaging with the iodine sugar. Then booted for restricted turnout alongside a heartbar shoe. I would say he was back to normal after about 4-5 months. We were very lucky as he had sliced right up to the Coronet band. 9 months later it had fully grown out and you would never have any idea he'd had a problem.
 
Yes, our horse did this is September 2024 Operated on and removed a bit of bone. Took approx 3 months of care and bandaging but now sound and only a slight indent in his sole.

Ours did this September 2024. Needed a small bit of bone removed from pedal bone. Took approx 3 months to come sound. Only a small indent in sole now.
