I have just got off the phone to my vet after he has done x-rays on Cassie and she's staying there to be monitored for a day or so. She's been in with laminitis and a suspected infection in the laminae (in one front foot only) for nearly 2 weeks now but she had not responded to antibiotics/poultice/tubbing of the foot. He says she is an unusual case, she is very lame, pretty much hopping on 3 legs...however, there is virtually no pulse in any 4 feet. He has put a frog support on now which he says has improved her dramatically...I am yet to see, am going to visit her tomorrow morning. My vet also said that the x-rays show no pedal bone rotation...but some pedal bone erosion in the front left she is so sore on.

Has anyone had any experience of pedal bone erosion? Any advice/stories welcomed...

Look up pedal ostitis. my mares pedal bone was found to be demineralising. (sounds bout the same) she was hopping lame for months until i changed vet n they did extra x rays. after a weeks box rest and danilon she was like a different horse. shes back in light work now but i am very careful about the ground shes on
