Pedal bone fracture

Would really appreciate some advice, my horse fractured her pedal bone (relatively small fracture and doesn't reach a joint) over 4 months ago. We have done 4 months complete box rest and one month walking in hand. We went back to the vets to progress to the next stage but she is still lame in trot. We have repeated the mri scan and the bone is healing well but with some calluses. There is no damage to the tendons or ligaments. Has anyone had any experience of these calluses? And will it just take more time to come back completely sound? Thank you for your advice.

Hi I have no experience of this I only know of a horse with a sesamoid bone fracture which took a lot longer than 4mths box rest but did come fully sound and return to the previous level of work. I would post this in vet section so more people see it.
