Pedalite/Baglite - anyone used them? Worth the money?

I'm looking ahead to winter (sorry!) and I've been thinking about trying to hack my boy in the morning before work, otherwise I only manage to ride at weekends as we have no arena. Problem is we only have road hacking so I want to light us up like a christmas tree to make sure we're seen. I've got a high vis coat and hat band, but my flashy vest has given up the ghost after only one winter so I need to replace it. I want one that will stand up to some regular use in rain etc. Are the baglite harness things any good? They don't look very bright and don't have as many lights on as my vest but say they're hardwearing and solar powered which sounds great. I don't want to pay twice the price if they're pants! If not them, does anyone have any other suggestions?

I bought a Pedalite anklette last year. Lasted about a week-the light never lasted more than 5 minutes.

I got flashing armbands from sports direct if you catch it right you can grab them for a pound each! We put them everywhere on our arms, legs on horses neck strap/back of ex sheet. I have also used bike lights with slide on attachment onto a hat band which works well too as gives a higher view point!
