Between me and my mum we have a few dogs now (5), we've got three terriers, a Staff x and a GSP and do you know who will always be my fav fab dog - Buffy the Staff x!!!!!

She is the best dog EVER!!!!! I love her to bits, even though she isn't mine! She is soooo clever and loving, she thinks she is a human!!

I love my GSP and mine and mums terriers but Buffy is something else!!

It's not really a VS thing in my mind, but finding the right dog for you and your family.
Buffy just IS that one in a million and would be whatever her breding.

Love anything that is right, some stunning crosses and some god ugly purebreds out there!

I have a pedigree Malinois and a pedigree Akbash - both are dogs of a lifetime! Absolutely fabulous dogs.

I also have Lily

. Lily is special....so special that I can't believe I spent the money to fly her over here when we moved....

. Lily is the offspring from a pedigree Border Collie mother and a pedigree Springer Spaniel father....she took after her father sadly! Lily is now to have her own crossbred puppies after a morning of passion with a passing stray collie, so this will make her extra special.

Daisy the Malinois is very much MY dog; she's my constant companion wherever I am on the farm.

Clover the Akbash is adorable and very lazy for a puppy. That's okay though, she's very cuddly when she can be bothered to get up for a snuggle.

Have to say, all of my dogs are great - they are all different but most lovely.

however, my grandparents have a Border Terrier which i adore, and I do like GSD

My best gundog of all time was a Huntaway x Labrador (yes a mistake!), my spaniel is not registered but already someone has asked to use him as a stud because he is so lovely and my fantastically bred labrador has OCD in both elbows!

Yes I agree with Anima its horses for courses - or dogs for jobs!

Anima is entirely right.

I have only ever owned pedigrees though, bar one who was a lovely little mongrel. Real cracking wee dog. Unfortunately he went missing and we never got him back

Although Tina is not a registered lab, we never got her papers through. I wouldn't say she is particularly well bred.

I love them all just as much. We have pedigrees and show/breed and they are fab, just as much as my bog standard JRTs are. And our first dog was a Staff X Lab X Stuff

and she was wonderful

Agree 100%. Stella is perfect for us. This morning, we ran five miles through a forest; this afternoon, she was Christmas shopping with us. She is active when we want, and docile when we want, which is what a good companion breed is supposed to be.
