I have sold my lorry and intend to get a trailer. I did think of Ifor Williams 510 as they do seem to hold their value. However, I have a limited budget of aprox £2800 and have seen a 5 year old Pegasus advertised that looks quite nice. Just wondered if anyone has any experience of these trailers, I have to load two horses on my own quite a lot so it has to be user friendly!

I don't have one yet but it's on my shopping list!
I know someone with one and had a good look round it, I've also talked to my local trailer dealer about ordering one.

They are custom built by Wessex, very well put together, light to tow (the floors are rotproof plastic on the older ones, newer ones are aluminium) with some really useful detailing.

I've heard about a couple of crap floors. Not sure about the plastic, sounds a bit flimsy ,I don't know? Also check the rails underneath and they're not going anywhere x

i heard they are very very large and very heavy so may not be suitable for carrying two horses.

Also heard a horror story of a horse leaping out of the jockey door thing and getting stuck  :(

I've heard more horror stories regarding side jockey doors than in the Pegasus. I bought one in the late nineties when the company was independent and LOVED it - great design by people that understand what horse owners need and aren't just adapting stock trailer design. The tack locker works really well, the big doors give a lot of light and air when open, and give great head room in transit, and I loved being able to easily see the horses through the glass door when driving.

I sold mine a few years ago and I know the owner still really rates it. Not sure if she's had the floor replaced - it was inch thick marine ply.
