I am looking to do some ridden showing next year and would like to put my pony in a Pelham with double reins. However he is only 13 hands and has a small head. Are there any Pelhams that are smaller so it doesn't swamp his head? He is usually in a 5" loose ring snaffle with a lozenge. Tia :)

There are plenty of small bits for tiny ponies although a 5in bit seems very wide for a 13 hander, the 2 13 hand ponies I have here are both in 4 or 41/2 inch bits, you can get short shank pelhams that are designed for ponies that look neater and have less leverage, ask your instructor to suggest what would be best, I prefer one with a low port rather than a jointed one, something like the one in this link would be a good starting point.
