can someone please tell me what they have against the pelhams with roundings worn with a flash?? My pony goes nicely in this combination-not overly keen on roundings but found two reins a bit fiddly to ride with all the time!

This post was because in another forum there has been some conflicting issues on it!

My mum always told me that the reason you are told not to wear a flash is it stops the curb chain working properly as it lies over the top of it. It also can mask resistance, but it does that whatever bityou use it with so I don't see why that should be a no-no only when the bit is a pelham. Roundings are used for practicality's sake, as you say it is is easier to deal with one rein than two. The difference is that with two reins you have, in theory, independant control over the curb action. However, haring across the countryside isn't always the time to check that you have your reins perfectly adjusted!
