Pelhams V Double

I am wanting to show my mare under saddle this year. she has always been ridden in an ordinary snaffle but pelhams and doubles seem to be used for showing? Can anyone help me out with the pro's and cons here? i have ridden in a double before so i am comfortable doing so but i want whats best for my girl??

Maybe a double if she accepts two bits in her mouth. This way you have more precise/seperate control over how much curb you use as that is what she could potentially object to if used to snaffles.
