My daughters do a bit of showing on Toto and use a french link pelham with two reins which he goes well in untill its time for the "lap of honour" or cantering in a group , Toto tucks his head in and gets all excited and tries to turn it into a race

, would a different mouthpiece help ? , dont want to use a double bridle ( they look far too complicated!) but they really need to use two reins - help !

Try a waterford mouth piece. They are expensive but should stop him leaning on the bit and trying to race off.
