I’m wanting a bit of advice and information on horses that have had pelvic fractures.
My horse which I have had for nearly 5 years and is now 13 years old had a fracture to his pelvis when he was 4 years old, he recovered fine and raced after.
However now he is getting a bit older he is showing signs of stiffness in it more than usual but never on certain occasions for example he became rather stiff in summer last year came sound again in winter to his normal self and now is going stiff again. I have had physio with him and also had vet out but it is due to that injury which will be something we are going to have to live with but I’m just wondering is there anything that could help him like supplements wise or other things like how people have dealt with it.
He is in light work, schooling and hacking and never shows any signs of pain from it and will happily gallop round the field at full speed which I doubt will help.
