Hello all,

I've finally made the difficult decision to leave my job, I am feeling rather heartbroken about it all and will miss the horses terribly but I know I can't delay the inevitable any longer - that is getting a 'proper' job that pays above minimum wage.

After a long think I have decided to make the journey east back to where I grew up in Horsham, my wonderful dad is allowing me to stay at house (which I swear was bigger when I left all those years ago!) until I am settled and earning so that just leaves me with finding a place for the horse.

I am ideally looking for a field with water (and electricity/small barn/storage if poss although not essential) to rent in the Horsham/East of Horsham area. I'm not fussed about facilities although a local arena that I could hack to and hire would be a bonus. He needs to be on individual turnout as he is a bit fragile since doing his tendon and likes to run round like a loon when others are in with him.

Does anyone know of anywhere or roughley how much a 1/2 acre field would be to rent in that area?

Thanks :)

Why not stick a wanted ad up in the local tack shops? I am Dorking not Horsham so can't advise which tack shops are around but that is where I would start..

Hi, I have a friend who lives down that way and has some land in Copsale which she has grass liveries on. I can't message you from my phone but if you can message me your email address I'll get her to email you if it's any use to you? :)

....or look in Friday ad. Think places like that less likely to be advertised so get snapped up by word of mouth. A friend of mine who needed something managed to secure her places by dropping in on people to ask if they wanted to let out their field etc. Ie non horsey types who had bought property wiv a couple stables / land but didn't use.

Agree with above - Friday Ad is your friend in this area, as are the local tack shops/feed shops. You could also put an ad on the Horsham District Riding Club website :)

Hi, I'm in Crawley but have lived in Horsham all my life. There's a place in Rusper that does grass livery for £1/ day/ horse. Not sure what the deal is storage wise, or if there's a school around nearby but the grazing looked good when I went to look. There was also an ad in Friday ad for grazing around Horsham but that was a few months ago. There's some yards around the edge but for what you sound like your looking for they don't tend to make any publications as word of mouth snaps them up first. Good luck and welcome back :)
