Horses in Pontardawe, swansea area have been tagged. 2 mares turned out and one stabled mare. They wen't through a yard, past the owners house to the stables in front of the house, all without waking the 3 dobermans!!!! they found the mare plaited with knots in the bottom in the morning.

Please keep yours eyes open and keep checking your horses. Also please keep us informed on here if you know other horses tagged so we can try and fugure out what the are targeting!!!

Did you read any of the other threads on the "tagging"?

Read them, then think carefully about how people can tag horses without waking any of the three Dobermans? Then throw into the doubts about whether someone actually did it and it wasn't just the wind the comment I've made several times that my sociable short--maned valuable horses have never been tagged but my virtually untouchable long-maned elderly retired Welsh frequently is. What I hadn't said until now is that the two untagged horses aren't freeze-marked, the Welsh is! He's also unrugged so his mark is very visible . . . .

Then look up the definition of "scare-mongering" in the dictionary, blush and feel a bit more secure about how safe your horse is. If it isn't freezemarked then put your energy into arranging a session!

Is this tag a proper plait with 3 sections or just a wind tangle have you a photograph so people on here can make up their on minds as to what it actually is.
The ones that have put on pictures of these "tags" to be honest just looks like messy tangles, i don,t want to seem complacent and obviously you need to take action if you are concerned.

I cannot see thieves risking going past a house to tag horses, what is the point of tagging? If a thief wants ur horse,he will take it regatdless. I would love to know where all this info is coming from??????????

I am sitting on the fence on this one,

I would rather know about it than not though,
My friend brought her pony in from the field and her horse had a single plait, I was really concerned and was when I spoke to her she had actually done plaits in his mane to keep that spikey section lying flat. and the others had come out and the last one was just a tangled mess.

I am sure aregona would not have made this up, so will definatly be keeping an eye open. (thank you for letting us know)

Even if it is a prank surely its best to inform everyone its not as if we have to go out of our way to notice a tangled plait in our horses mane, as aregona said one horse was stabled so how could that mare end up with a windy tangle/plait ??!!!

And in Pontardawe there has been a few trailer thefts also so obviously some not very nice people in area !!!

Hope You and your horses are ok aregona. PM me if you have any other info

It is good to know BUT I wouldt of thought thieves would be stupid enough to go past the house, unless its really isolated-no other houses around ie rurally located. They could of been seen!! ????????

this house is in a very rural area with no other local neighbours. As stated the horse was stabled and it was a man-made three strand plait, not a windy 'fairy' plait. My friend has had no reason to make this up and considering all the tack theft and trailer theft in Cwmgors and Ammanford it made sense to let ppl know.
If you are fed up with this type of post or deon't believe it then i suggest you don't read them.

Thats awful that these creeps would do this.Could she put security lights up? Some people broke into my mothers garage few years back and they took all the tools, chain saw etc, theu disconnected the decurity lights/alarm,so they were well organised. Pity your friends dogs wernt outside at the time!!!! Are they freezemarked?

So are you now saying only one horse, the stabled one, was plaited? Originally you said one stabled and two out.

i think what she is saying is that the stabled horse was a definite man made plait, whereas possibly the horses that are out could have been fairy plaits, but if the stabled horse had a man-made plait, you would assume that the horses living out also had man-made plaits, but you cannot be sure. either way, good to let people know.
