just wondering if anyone on here has done bewl water ride,
i did it today hacked from my yard to it all the way round and back again a round trip of around 17miles, have decided my hrose never runs out of energy as i put him in his stable for a hour to sleep if he wanted after it before walking him out to his field he did not have a wink of sleep spent it banging on his door so took him out the the field of which he jogged all the way put him in there and he did about 20 laps of the field in full pelt gallop in around 10sec (and its a big field) it was like he had been on box rest his whole life :P
so i was wonering has anyone else down the whole of bewl water ?????????

dont have any pics sorry

no you are wrong about the 2hour thing,
addmitidley we did stop off at the pub half way round and then 3/4 way round because we wanted more food :B but we got there at about 10:45 after setting of from my yard at about 10 and we got all the way round and we were back at the visitor centre at around 3 and back at my yard for around 4
even if we did not stop at all we would only have finshed at around 2

nope bewl is a resivoir however i was commentint today on how much it has gone down i though they must have drained it at part you could just walk over on the teh little estuaries that are normally full up of water and the groun was firm and we got some really good canters and gallops in at thoose points becasue ther were no cyclists or walkers to run into
but yes it was a very very long day in the saddle worse that the whole week of four days rallys and pony club camp put together at least tehy are done in hour lessons

A friend and I boxed our horses to Bewl Water a few years ago only to find my horse is absolutely phobic about lakes!

oh dear, connor was rather scared of it however am still wondering if that was the boucy castle slide thing the ducks the screaming kids running through the woods or the 100's of boats parked although it could of cource be those very very very scary things that float on teh water and move AKA the boats on the water :P

I did it a few years ago with some friends. Don't think it took us more than 3hrs - suppose we did it quite fast!

We did have problems at one point when we met some weird people who chose to cook their BBQ right beside a very narrow wooden bridge.

It took ages for us to get past as the sausages were spitting and the flame was over the top of them!

It took my friends' 4yr old shire horse to lead the way past the 'flaming dragon', good job therefore, that she had a nice plump arse for the wimpish 17.3hh 14yr old gelding to skedaddle into, swiftly followed by me on nervy Welshie!!!

We were nearly home by then, there was no way we were going to turn round and retrace our steps!!!
