So, my little brother's girlfriend's family (with me so far?) have got a puppy - a Sprocker. (My brother is 15, so I've never met these people)

'Are they an active family?' 'No' 'Do they like being outdoors?' 'No'

Now, 4 weeks later, the girl has had to persuade her dad not to sell the puppy already - because it wees and poos everywhere, and the cats don't like it.

 WHAT ON EARTH DO PEOPLE EXPECT OF PUPPIES?????????

Poor little puppy:( I'm 150 miles away, so not much I can do... just hope it ends up with non-numpties.:(

Shame you're not closer. You could have swapped it for a stuffed toy and see if they actually noticed.
People seem to think puppies are all cute and cuddly, don't seem to realise they are flippin'hard work! Makes my blood boil.

Whilst Im not defending the owners, who sold them this puppy without finding out what sort of home it was going to. Too many puppies end up in breed rescues because owners dont research the breed and breeders dont vet perspective owners.

If breeders loved the breed they should step up and take responsibility but it seems its all about the money.

All breeders should be licensed whether you breed one litter a year or several.

You are right DG. Just hope the puppy will get a good home one way or another. I am debating whether to email a spaniel rescue site to my brother, but at the end of the day he is only 15, so I don't know if it's fair, as it might make him feel under pressure.:(

Anyway, hopefully we will be kept updated. Maybe my mum will be getting another dog sooner than she thought... or maybe I will!

Poor pup, as DG says the breeders are as much as fault. It is a real bugbear of mine (you may have noticed:rolleyes:) that some "breeders" churn out pups without a thought as to where there pups end up and yet the more responsible of us get lumped together with them by people who seem to be anti all breeders.
Perhaps your brother could suggest to them that you could give them contacts to help rehome if need be.

If it's any consolation MM I wouldn't call them breeders they are simply puppy farmers in a private home!!! Poor little puppy is the only one suffering ARGH *ick heads all round

S'ok.Will feed my mum wine then go and rescue the pup, I'll be back in Norfolk before she realises:D

I just hope it works out, MM, I will mention that I can supply rescue contacts (mostly through the power of google, but I suspect they will not be bothered to do even that themselves based on evidence so far!) and hope they take me up on the offer.

Wish I owned my house, I'd have her. But a puppy - I can't ask that of my landlords, it would not be fair. And my house is too tiny!

There is a thread on another forum I go on about a person with an entire dog who is being stalked in the park by someone with a bitch, he keeps makes comments about lovely puppies and encouraging his in-season bitch to run over to them! The mind boggles!
