Had planned to give my old trailer a new lick of paint shortly while we have it dry. It is a bahill. Now, all was fine, gave it a good wash and soap with power wash, all ready to be painted. Having had some spare time on my hands I decided to give it a good clean inside too, and on poking around noticed that bottom of the wooden panel on the sides if the wall was rather damp  so much so it broke away in my hand :eek:. So. To cut a long story short, I ripped the bottom part off and the rest seems fine. How do I go about attaching a new panel of wood? Would it be a case of attaching to top part of existing wood but what about the bottom? The floor is absolutely fine, a lot newer than sides which I do t think have ever been touched!

Thanks:)

horrah another person with an old trailer :D I've just purchased an old one all my budget could stretch too after a few personal disasters and a few financial dents and the absolute determination that I am going to get out competing this summer!

However in answer to your question I have no idea so will watch this post with interest. However question for you, are you going to put a base coat or any kind of wood sealant on before painting it - just out of curiosity thanks. .

Me too! I have thought that ill just scrap it but I can't! I've already got brakes and electrics done and some minor things. It was more cosmetic that needs done now.

With regards to painting, I wasn't too sure so went into the shop and asked. The only tng I've got is an undercoat and then my metal paint. However, I have since found out that if you use Hammerite you don't need anything at all, so I think I'm going to exchange it. The only thing with hammerite is that the bigger tins on,y come in basic colours. Which is handy for me as I want black and a white or silver, but whoever done mine before done it in blue so not sure what they used! It's started to peel after the power wash was on it so ill need to sand that down.

Typical it's forecast to rain this week

Can put photos up of the wall I've wrapped off if anyone wants :o
