I don't even know if I'm allowed to post this but I'm so narked that people have to be so petty.

I posted a photo post a while ago asking for people to post their fave photos of their horse, and if they wouldn't mind me drawing them...
Some sad case has gone and complained to admin that this is advertising my artwork!!

I can't see how this is advertising seeing as I didn't even post any examples of my work so I could be the worst artist in the world for all everyone knows...
There are plenty of people with their artwork in their sigs, etc. and having posted their art, and nobody (including me) is bothered about that!

Everyone writes about all different elements of their lives on here and if someone were starting a business for anything else... wether it were cake making, beauty therapy, dog walking... (just off the top of my head) it would be acceptable to post and ask for advice on setting up, etc. or even just updating on their progress.... why is this any different?

Why do people have to be so pathetic?
 
I wouldn't worry some people are like that, but also whilst this thread is new may I say that its not good publicity for your business to be associated with a 'rant'? Calling potential customers pathetic and petty.

Just a thought.

is she even a pro artist? with a business? i presumed she just liked drawing...? and... to be fair, i don't think she was advertising... there are many many many blatent adverts on here that 'get through'... i do feel a bit sorry for her!

Hey life it too short to get wound up over who ever it was, perhaps they thought it was the right thing to do, perhaps they didn't want you treding on their turf...who knows

Its not like you were intentionally doing anything wrong to anyone, therefore there is no need to feel guilty or get wound up if you've had a slap on the wrists from admin, just remember that and keep smiling hun.

I don't think it classes as advertising either, I can't see where I said it did. All I was saying was a little caution wouldn't go a miss as bad press travels quite quickly in the horse world. As it stands I couldnt care less what people think of the OP'S business (or not a business that is the question) but was trying to offer some constructive help.

Thats me flogging a dead horse, which it appears happens a lot on this forum...

Rules is rules I suppose hun. Everyone is similarly restricted as per t&c. I guess if admin scrapped that rule there would be nothing on here except 10,000 adverts, with real debate, info and experiences swamped x
 
i know what you are saying BofF but seriously...there is so much blatant advertising on here! i just think some people have nothing better to do than try and police the forum...!
