people who feed your dog without asking - pet hate!

why are some people so flipping stupid and ignorant.

sorry but one of pet hates and i feel a rant coming on.......


i am just back from taking my elderly dog to the vet, as he has had a sore tum and been struggling generally a bit. vet confirmed his tummy is really tender and he has anti inflams, anti biotics and prescription food.. vet also confirms there is a really nasty doggy bug going about.

so, im paying the bill, struggling to hold all the bottles and jars of pills etc and hold onto him while i pay.... and this woman behind me proceeds to take biscuits from her pocket and start trying to feed them to my dog. he slobbered on her, but didnt take them, and she then reached out the same hand to the dog behind her in the queue, which promptly put its nose in it. I get so angry when people feed your dog / horse without asking!! The woman then muttered, as i was quietly seething and she could probably see the daggers shooting out of me "oh well, i probably shouldnt be feeding you anyway" as she put the same hand back out to him. At that point i let rip and said "no, you shouldnt! He is a very poorly dog with a nasty stomach infection, on a prescription only diet and probably infectious!!! " and she said.. "oh well he didnt take it anyway!"

i left cursing under my breath that that wasnt the flipping point

i think im getting more blunt and less tolerant of others in my old age

Don't talk to me. My dog has a wheat intolerance, I found out the builders had been feeding him white ham sandwiches and custard creams to 'make friends'

He still barked like crazy at them, and they could have given them too his sister, who would have appreciated them more

I've trained Yellow Dog not to take food from the hand unless I tell him its ok - I had such problems with people feeding my food obsessed goldie
