There are some beautiful sheep along the road from me and I'd love to know what they are. They are brown and have whites faces and white tails and are so pretty. Any ideas?

What sort of pasture are they on? It could be that they are bog standard sheep on stubble turnips or have just come from the sales and have had 'bloom' applied to make them look better for the show and sale ring. Look forward to seeing the pic tho!!

Went to take photos and they have gone! However, thanks for all the ideas guys and from the pictures, they were definately Zwartbles! I'd love some to graze my empty fields next year. Maybe I'll look into it. x

I was about to say Zwartbles - I have a few of them and they are lovely.

I was too! they are milk sheep primarily, cheese. I first saw them 13 years ago at Builth Ram sales. Tried to persuade OH to buy some. We came back with dirty bottomed Suffolks instead.

Zwartbles are quite big - a littler versin might be jacobs or jacob x's - if I can work out how to post a pic I'll put one of mine on so you can see

Please excuse my paintshop doodlings - was having a play ;o they aren't this mutant really!!!

The 2 jacobs are brother and sister - Wayne and Angela (Wayne had no bits but he still had a girlfriend "waynetta")

None of my girlies have had horns and the only boy, had 4 horns

Zwartbles are bigger and their fleece seems blacker but v similar face markings
