We have a Cavalier King Charles, he's two and obviously fully grown, but he is quite small. In the past week I have had at least 5 people say what a cute puppy he is, and how he's going to look lovely when he grows up :p It's kind of awkward when you have to tell them he's fully grown! Just wondering if anyone else gets similar comments, they make me smile but really?! :D

When walking our Lancashire Heeler with the Dobes Im often asked if she is their puppy:eek:, the only reason I can see is she is black and tan same as them but its surprising the lack of doggy knowledge out there.

I've had people say 'Oh I used to have one of them.... But as a soft toy'. I even had someone scream once when she moved as I had picked her up to avoid her going through a bog before getting into my car and they had just assumed I was carrying around a soft toy

Used to get that all the time with my minature pinschers. I threatened to get a Tshirt made to say "They're Not Puppies" but thought that might have been too easily misinterpreted!

We get this with our IG, she's very similar in colour to one of the whippets and folk think she is a puppy. They are always amazed when we tell them that she's 4 and has had a litter of 5 puppies.

Yep, all the time! Seth, my BT is 5 and at least once a week someone asks if he's a pup. He's not even small, he's a fairly stocky lad for a BT. He must just have a cute puppy face.

Yes - someone asked today if Bertie (Miniature Pinscher) was Jasper's (JRTxDaxi) puppy. I guess they didn't notice that Jasper was a boy! I had to tell than that Bertie was 14 months old and that was as big as MinPins got!

Nope, but OH takes our little cavalier out on the bike and they she runs off lead with him for how ever long he is out (generally 45 mins to an hour) and he gets "awww how cute" or "wow can those kind of dogs do that" erm clearly yes:rolleyes: cos she is::p
Im sure he just does it to get the attention of the ladies:rolleyes: esp when he takes my akita out who resembles a bear and gets the whole "omg, is it a bear, can I stroke him" erm NO...clearly it ain't a bear:rolleyes: but you can stroke HER!

Up until getting the 3rd cav whos a puppy recently we had 2 cavs.

1 is 8 and the other is 2. I frequently got told how cute my 'puppy' (the 8 yo) was!!! :D

I'm glad Harvey isn't the only one to get puppy comments :p People that have seen us on walks a lot even still ask if he's going to grow any more :D Cayla - Harv does agility and can jump about double his own height and apparently this is shocking because little dogs aren't meant to be able to do that :D

My 8yo used to do agility and the instructor at the classes couldn't believe her jump. We once decided to put the jump higher and higher just to see what she could actually do. She cleared the 2nd to highest!!!

Someone did once mistake my small dog for a squirrel....

He is a chihuahua (med length hair, mum long dad short) so has a rather extravagant tail on a medium haired body, oh and he's red. He was running flat out across the park so quite close to the ground and managed to do a bit of a circle around a couple out for a walk, one of whom thought my other dog was chasing a 'poor squirrel'...erm, no, they're playing and they're BOTH DOGS :D

We get that a lot with our mini schnauzer x poodle, most people think she's a pup, especially the way she acts at times!
