i am considering getting some as i need to replace my chaps and wellies

i get really bad chilblanes on my toes so want something warm but confortable and safe to ride in but will also act as wellies and found the tyne ones are they good for movement because i like riding in short boots really

whats peoples experiences of them good or bad

and do they fit wide calves

I've recently bought some and i find them brilliant, me feet are never cold now (even at -17'c as it was up here recently), would definately recommend them. although they are quite chunky, so i tend only to ride out hacking etc with them. and you would need quite wide stirrups.

Really good

Depends if you buy the riding ones or the wellie ones! Loved the long black riding ones with a heel, but hate the replacement purple shorter ones with no grip on the sole. I am always slipping on the mud and ice. Feet stay warmer but can get cold if your socks become damp! Plus useless if you need to go in deep water!

If you need to go in deep water, they are crap (as i found out getting horses in when the ford flooded

) but otherwise, really warm and I wouldn't be without mine now!! I have the wellie version, the riding didn't fit me. I used to ride my mare in them as she was only hacking and I trusted her as much as you can trust a horse. However wouldn't wear those for schooling, riding babies etc as they have no heel on and are quite chunky.

I love mine - we all love them

. Both D1 and D2 have, and Friend has as well

. From a warmth point of view they are brill

.

The only drawback we've found is that the strip that covers teh back seam does come unstuck at the ankle area, which allows them to leak a little

We ride in ours

. I find they provide a good level of support. Never had a problem with them getting stuck in stirrup irons. The only slight downside is the comparative lack of flex in the ankle, so I wouldn't want to wear them for serious schooling.

I used to live in mine, but they started to rub and give me blisters in the end so I had to stop wearing them. I did stop wearing them for riding because I fell off once while wearing them and got my foot stuck in the stirrup and got dragged, which was scary! But for yard work, I loved them.

I am on my second pair of riding ones now - my first pair lasted four years of wearing every single day for six months of the year!
I love them - they are warm, waterproof, you can ride in them very easily and durable. Could be better, imo!
