performance enhancing boots

Just wondering what exactly these are I see they are no longer allowed to be worn by 5 & 6 year old horses when competing in SJAI?? As im on the subject I seem to notice that a lot of horses dont seem to be wearing over reach boots when competing?? (PS hope ive posted this correctly as this is my first time!!)

and yes you have posted correctly

i think its referring to weighted boots which are used for horses in SJ to make them pick up behind more, so its good for youngsters, or horses who are lazy with there feet.

I suppose people only put OR boots on horses if they need them, i certainly wouldnt use them if they werent needed. I dont ride my mare in them, but i do my gelding as he has a much bigger stride. Think it depends on your horse imo.

Thanks that certainly makes sense - just I have never seen them advertised anywhere. I have a pony whoes careless but very talented - might try and get some!!!
