Hi everyone,

Quick question for those who have used PDR to build stables in the garden! How did you find out whether or not your plans would come under PDR or need planning permission? My solicitor says I have to ask the council planning department. The planners say I have to ask my solicitor!

The planners are very strict about what they will & won't accept so I'd much rather do it under permitted development if I can. I have a map of the house that shows the whole plot, with a smaller bit marked out within it, which I'm guessing might be the curtilage. Hope not as it's teeny tiny :) Hence I'd like to get the definitive answer from somebody!

Any help much appreciated.

you can put stables up within the garden curtilage without planning. permitted development rights allow you to extend the house by 4 metres without planning but with building control. all the relevant planning should be on the household title deeds.
